What services do you offer and who are the dentists?
We offer a full spectrum of dental services – from routine check-ups, hygiene and fillings to advanced care such as cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics (e.g. Invisalign), root canal treatment, oral surgery, specialist periodontics, implants, and sports dental care. Our team is led by experienced clinicians with both general and specialist qualifications, ensuring you receive appropriate, high-quality care for whatever your dental needs might be.
Am I suitable for dental implants?
Many adults are suitable for implants, provided there is enough healthy jawbone and good gum health.
At CPD, we will conduct a thorough assessment – including clinical exam and imaging if needed – to determine suitability. If bone or gum volume is reduced, we can discuss preparatory treatments before implant placement.
How long does implant treatment take, and how soon will the new tooth be fitted?
Implant treatment is a staged process. First we assess and plan, then place the implant under local anaesthetic. After the implant integrates with the bone (which takes a few months in many cases), we fit the final crown, bridge or denture.

Does implant or oral surgery hurt? What is the pain or recovery like?
The actual placement of an implant is done under local anaesthetic, so you should not experience pain during the treatment.
Afterwards, it’s common to have some mild swelling or discomfort, which typically settles within a few days. Most patients manage this with standard pain relief and return to normal activity quickly.
What are the alternatives to implants if I’m not suitable?
If implants are not suitable (e.g. insufficient bone, health considerations), other restorative options remain available – including crowns, bridges or removable dentures.
At CPD we will discuss all possible options with you, including benefits, limitations and aesthetics, to find the best solution for your needs.
How often should I visit the dentist or hygienist for check-ups and cleaning?
For many patients, a check-up or hygiene visit every six months is a good baseline.
However, if you have ongoing gum disease, implants, or other risk factors, we may recommend more frequent visits – perhaps every 3-4 months – to maintain optimal oral health.
What cosmetic or orthodontic options are available to improve my smile?
We provide tailored cosmetic dentistry (veneers, bonding, whitening), discreet orthodontic solutions including Invisalign, and other aesthetic treatments – all designed to deliver natural, elegant results.
At CPD, we combine functional and aesthetic planning to ensure that improvements to your smile also support long-term oral health and bite stability.
Do you provide emergency dental care?
Yes – we offer prompt and compassionate emergency or urgent care for issues such as pain, broken teeth, infection or trauma. Our aim is to relieve discomfort quickly, stabilise your condition and plan any needed follow-up treatment.
What’s the difference between general dentistry, specialist periodontics, and when do I need a specialist?
General dentistry covers routine care, fillings, crowns/bridges, hygiene and basic restorative work. Specialist periodontics – such as that offered at CPD – is for advanced gum disease, gum recession, gum surgery and implant-related gum/bone work.
If you have complex gum issues, bone loss, failing teeth, or want the highest level of care for implants or gum health, a specialist approach ensures optimal outcomes and long-term stability.
Is there parking available?
Yes, we provide convenient on-site parking for our patients, with up to four dedicated spaces available directly outside the practice. We are located on the ground floor at Centennial Park Dental, making access easy for all patients, including those attending longer appointments or specialist treatments.
